In a (Dutch) survey the work of a refuse collector was very much undervalued. I second that.
The stupid thing is that we know better after a one or two day strike. We need these guys!

It is about the same with the people that clean our offices. They walk around your building very early in the morning, or in the afternoon. They are the ghosts that clean up your mess.
When I see them I talk to them and tell and show them that I respect them and what they do. Maybe just by saying “Hi” to them.
I am sure this makes a difference…

We talked about waste before

Sinn Fein, the political wing of the terroristic IRA (Irish Republican Army) wants to get rid of wire taping equipment and is offering it for sale. The equipment was probable placed in their office by MI5 and was found last year. They offered it at eBay before, but this was canceled without reason given.
Now Sin Fein has put up its own site for selling the equipment. Bidding is possible till June 4th.

After reading about this I couldn’t stop laughing. I know it is a terrible personal tragedy, but at this age people should have developed at least some brains. They were ‘clever’ enough to think about how to get light into the pvc tubes to imitate the famous Star Wars light swords, the Lightsabre. They used petrol to put into the tubes and did light it for a duel.
The two, 20 and 17 years old, wanted to record the fight with a video camera, but are seriously wounded now after the tubes exploded.

The story here is different on some details because this Article at BBC is from a later date. Now I read it was a glass tube instead of pvc. But okay..

This doesn’t need any explanation, I think.
