Mindless Omelette (MO)

Thursday, July 21st, 2005

I went to a sauna yesterday and loved it (again). The wheather wasn’t that great, but the sauna tour and lying on the strechers was relaxing… Love it!

Relaxing makes hungry, so we wanted to eat something. Here in The Netherlands it is almost a habbit to have a culinary meal being in a sauna. For quite some money.
But like I wrote before the restaurant don’t seem to be interested in normal good food. It wasn’t easy to find something veggie for our taste at that moment.

Our (combined) pick of the day was: (the endless) omelette with mushrooms, toasted goat cheese sandwich, French fries and yoghurt with nuts and honey. We couldn’t make more of it. All these dishes had the word ‘vegetarian’ behind it.

To my surprise the omelette came with a (good filled) Russian salad with has beef in it. I told the waitress that I was again amazed by the fact that the side dish (on the same plate) of a vegetarian dish contained meat.

I rest my case… Sheep!!!

Smoked Teeth (ST)

Tuesday, July 19th, 2005

I am not a smoker and never have been. (Sure I tried when I was young. But I didn’t like it, and never went on with it]

I always had the idea that it was digusting and bad for health ‘only’. And that the heat and all the stuff that comes out of this burning cone was killing or at least stun everything in you mouth including taste buds. But it does affect teeths and gums too!
Smokers have a biggers change for having with chronic gum disease, which can lead to loss of teeth.

Why keep smoking?

The best thing you can win is that you can taste your food properly again! :)

Camelball Run (CR)

Camelball

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) are having a great ball with one their favorite sport: camel racing.
Of course the rich guys overthere don’t want to make dirty hands themselves, so they imported kids, some as young as four, from poor – mostly Asian – countries, “including Pakistan, Bangladesh, Mauritania and Eritrea.”

There is no proof of the children being kidnapped or trafficked for being a camel jockey, but they are a bit young for being brought to another country without their parents. Right?!

UNICEF is helping to get the kids repatriated again.

Arfa Gates (AG)

The 10-year-old Pakistan Arfa Karim Randhawa has this fixation for Bill Gates and his Micro$oft (MS after) .
The girl is probably worlds first MS Certified Professional in the world. A certification she received when she was only 9-years old!

So for sure a clever girl! But why on this terrestrial globe Bill Gates?

There are so many other companies with better ideas and software then MS. So if you want to grow with a free mind, go somewhere else I think. Work with the guys on Mozilla FireFox or Linux, or I don’t know who with!

During her one week visit to the MS HQ in Redmond, Arfa met her big hero. He wasn’t even wearing a tie. “At that level you don’t have to, Arfa!”

Arfa didn’t see anything of Disneyland. Poor girl!!

Countryman

Willie Nelson, the country music legend has released a new album, Countryman.
The album will get a new CD cover just for the Wal-Mart stores, one the biggest music distributors in the US.

You know why? Cosmic cowboy Willie had the cheek to put the leaf of a marijuana plant on the cover on his – YES! – reggea album.
Exclusively for Wal-Mart the leaf is replaced for a palm tree.

Oh boy!! Why not burn the album?!

Dutch Pussy (DP)

Saturday, July 16th, 2005

Dutch consumer products maker Philips has made the prototype of a new type of remote control to consumer electronics.
You can use it for “daily tasks such as sending messages, accessing daily information, selecting your favorite music, photos and video or even guarding your home”.

Is this all new?! Not really, I think. I am into this robotic stuff a lot less than amoebe, but I see different things put together in a new look:

The iCat has the shape of a yellow plastic cat.

Miaow!
