Peruvian Crashes (PC)

The season of plane crashes has started. I didn’t start counting, but there have been several plane crashes this summer already. How many are there to come?

Striking is the fact that this latest crash in Peru is the second with the Peruvian air line TANS. That earlier one was on January 9th, 2003.

I know, because the then boyfriend of my present girlfriend was in that plane. He didn’t survive it. He was a young, promising and original photographer. I liked his photo’s.

When will the season be over?

  • Crab of The Week (COTW)

Making mistakes is sad and difficult to handle afterwards, we know that all. We know the period after the London bombings was very tense and hectic for everyone in the UK, especially for the police and their families.

This Brasilian 27-years old electrician from Brazil, Jean Charles de Menezes, was killed because the London metropolitan police says that they thought he was dangerous.

Contrary to the police reports De Menezes was wearing a denim jacket, rather than a bulky coat. The surveillance camera’s tell us that “De Menezes walked at a normal pace, did not vault any barriers and even stopped to pick up a newspaper.”

When an investigation is started, is is supposed that the truth comes out. Now is seems that a lot has been done to cover up and stall things.

In that case you are guilty as hell. Not only the officers, but not at least the white-collar guys.

I don’t like Killer Cops! [even when they are white collared]

The London Killer Cops are CRAB OF THE WEEK !!

  • Soft Move (SM)

The American Beverage Association has made a wise decision. They realize that child obesity is a very big problem in the US indeed (as it is growing in Europe and other parts of this globe).

They could have said: “this is none of my business”, but they took their responsibility and are stopping selling soft drinks in vending machines on elementary schools. There we only be water, 100% juice, sports drinks, no-calorie soft drinks and low-calorie juice drinks in the vending machines.

In Europe we are not yet on that level, but we can wait for it. Within a few years we are will have the same problems. The signs are already there.

But the ABA, which has Coca Cola and Pepsi as members, made a nice start.

  • Kid Scan (KS)

Japanese are quite often ahead of us. With things we really don’t need or we really don’t want.

This time kids that are visiting a theme park in Japan will be tagged with a label or sticker with a QR code on it, that can be scanned by personel to get more info about them.

We don’t want kids with numbers. We want them to have their name on the tag. They wouldn’t be able to pronounce their QR name…
