Discovery Channel Europe is starting a new series of programs on Thursday, their Crime Night. It is called “Guilty or Innocent?” and is quite actual here.

There has been a case in court where the police, and other officials knew that the guy in court was not guilty.
Just because the evidence has proven it. And still they went on with the case.

But in the US, where this series – of course – is from, this is regularly the case. The main IRL (in real life) convicts are often black men, as far as I know.
Has this still something to do with the position of black people in the US? And what is the reason of that?

There are study groups and voluntary organizations (on leading universities) in the US that are looking in old cases, to find out if justice was done. And they succeeded to free quite a number of innocent people.

Not because quite a lot (most?) of them have a black skin, but just because the only thing we need is: Justice.
