kabbal

It is so fashionable to follow what kind of spiritual direction nowadays. Celebrities are very much searching for directions. Is that because of empty lives?

The catholic Madonna is defending her interest in the Jewish mystical teachings of Kabbalah. Her intentions are so pure as crystal, just like the children’s books that said to be kabbalah inspired.

Is there a difference between the Scientology sect and the Kabbalah Center sect? There both not interested in money, or are they?!

Flag Burning Day (FBD)

Friday, October 28th, 2005

What a great atmosphere it must be at Tehran. I looks like carnival, with picnics, street-vendors and people selling balloons. In fact a big party.
A day out with the kids with as highlight burning flags of Israel. I can see the picture…

But to be honest, nothing has changed. The Ramadan had almost ended and Eid ul-Fitr (Turkish: Åžeker Bayramı of Ramazan Bayramı, Arabic: عيد الÙ?طر, `id-oel-fitr, Bahasa Indonesia: Idul Fitri, Dutch: Suikerfeest) is coming up. But overthere people are not surprised. This is what they hear in their mosque all the time.

From where do people get these Israeli flags? From a shop? In Tehran??

Vatican Big Talk (VBT)

Friday, October 28th, 2005

Don’t take me wrong. I am very sorry about the lost life’s of the asylum seekers in the cells of Amsterdam Airport. It is a serious tragedy what happened there.

But let the Vatican stay out of it!

The papal council for migration and tourism (yes, really! – for them it seems about the same) has been critical about the way that asylum seekers are treated on airports.
Maybe they are right, but if they know and can do better, why don’t they. They have space at the palaces at the Vatican and monasteries and convents and other places around the globe.

And they have the money, loads of money. But what they do is asking you to pray…

Cheese Law (CL)

Wednesday, October 26th, 2005

A few years now we have an interesting discussion about in fact traditional and national food that is made in another country then you would expect.
It is the same discussion as we have with wine. A Bordeaux wine can only be called Bordeaux when it is from that French region.

Now the European Court of Justice judged that feta cheese has to be from Greece and can’t be made in Denmark or the UK, or at least not under that name.

I did never understand that the mozzarella and feta in the supermarket weren’t made in Bella Italia and Sunny Greece.
But they don’t taste that bad…

So now Gouda Cheese can only be from The Netherlands and nowhere else!

Stutter Ages (SP)

Tuesday, October 25th, 2005

It seems that Spain had discriminating laws for stutterers, till a few days ago. Stutterers couldn’t get a job in more than 100 (read: one hundred!) jobs.

This sounds like the Middle Ages to me.
For some jobs it could not always be convenient with regard to safety, but this goes (way to) far.

Banned Language (BL)

Tuesday, October 25th, 2005

The City Council of Hull has made a list of undesirable words for their civil servants.

Offensive, racist and homophobic words are already on the list and this is that’s pretty obvious. But they also put the words ‘pet’, ‘girls’, and ’senior citizens’ are on the ‘Banned List’ too.

Just rattle on…
