The role in the film “Memoires of a geisha” is played by a beautiful Chinese actress. For me this looks like an Indian woman that is playing the role of an American Indian. Strange…

  • FireFox In Theatre (FIT)

Internet browser Firefox 1.5 will soon be in the theatre close to you! Free of charge!
In only one year, it grabbed an important 10% share of the internet browser market. As successor of the free Netscape browser it is doing a great job.

This is where I started with. Netscape. 1994. Not the first first days, but the first browser days. Before that we were ‘gophering‘ the net and were quite happy with that. The hierarchical construction made it easy to use, next to all the command line programs we were using.
Getting into the catalog of a Japanese University over a telnet session, getting you mail directly on the server. The easy to use client-server model wasn’t widespread for the Internet. But we loved it!

Commercial goals are taking over the Internet, but innovative initiatives like the Mozilla FireFox project give me a feeling of the old days…
People are programming together and doing a great job to make themes and extensions for themselves and others too. Things to make YOUR way of browsing fun again.

Take Back Da Web!!! Download FireFox here

  • Mexican Imports (MI)

The US is guarding its borders very strict for years and years now to keep the cheap labour Mexicans out.
Now the Mexicans can take their revenge.

The Mexican government did send more than extra 100 agents to the border with the US. To stop the christmas trees there.
These imported trees from the US are double the price of the American ones and carry insects they don’t want in Mexico. This is what Mexico says.

What it is really about? Domination of the domestic christmas tree market.

    Merry Christmas!!

  • Chemical Love (CL)

There are songs about love that is chemical. And this is true according to researchers of the University of Pavia, in (where else - Bella) Italia.

The researchers found a chemical in the brain that causes these ‘butterflies’, euphoria and dependance and clammy hands. These proteins are called neurotrophins.

There is one sad thing about the neurotrophins. They have a storage life of only one year (!).
This doesn’t mean that you aren’t in love anymore, but the symptoms are faiding away.

    How sad….
