1-2-3 Meals (1M)
…or fantasy meals, if you please.
Dutch supermarket chain AH, Albert Heijn, is introducing the Kies & Kook (Choose & Cook) meal. Easy as 1-2-3…
Again a way to please the new generation of lazy cookers.
You go to the supermarket and choose the part from four different categories: 1) potatoes/rice/pasta; 2) veggies; 3) meat/fish/meat substitute and 4) sauce.
Take it home, a little knob of butter and in 15 minutes the (4-person) meal will be on your plate.
I understand the market asks for these solutions, otherwise it wouldn’t be there but it looks like people are really getting lazy with cooking.
So there are two growing camps now: the lazy cookers that buy pre-thought and pre-sorted food and the camp of followers that think the television chefs (like Nigela and Jamie) are gods.
Okay, I admit… I like Jamie [I mean, as a cook]
