Zoom Freaks (ZF)
Governments are freaking out. And Google is likely to get some trouble with these governments.
China, India, the US and the governments of other countries think that Google has great information that they could use [US -> engine] OR that they don’t want to be used [China -> engine; India -> detailed satellite maps in Google Earth].
It is only a question of time or Google will be forced to censor or give away information more than it is now.
They are not giving in on the US Government and India, but Google has made the decision to do what the Chinese wants and censor their engine.
Do they get money for it? Or are they waiting for a bigger market and want to play a role there? I don’t understand what is going on here. What is their market in China without all available information?
Maybe there are opinions on that, but I didn’t have the time till now to read about it.
It is all about zooming in on information and there are governments that think it’s is only their right to do that.
