Biased…again…

Saturday, May 19th, 2007

It is interesting and extremely sad, but not new, to see that the Dutch press is giving an biased view on the Israeli raids, just like the press in most other countries, the UK for instance.

An important example is seen here. NOS Teletekst (an extra signal to the television signal) is one of the major newssources of the Dutch. The NOS is know as a bastion of lefties and they show it again.

The story is that the bad Israelis did some air strikes on targets in Gaza, like they did last wednesday.

The last paragraph is a kind of “Oh yes, didn’t I tell you? Oh, sorry for that!”: |Yes, there were 100 rockets fired to the city of Sderot, close to Gaza. Aren’t they used to it now?

I can tell you that I will never get use to a biased press.

First or Second Life

Monday, May 7th, 2007

I have never been a player of games or roleplays, I have to be honest. But I am at home now. Sick…

There is so much talk about Second Life (SL), a virtual world where you can really live your second life. It sounds crazy and it is. But now I know that hearing about it is quite different from being there and talk to other people around there.

Just like in the new world commerce is taking over everywhere, so does it in SL. Shops are popping out of the ground everywhere. But there are virtual nightclubs, shops with weapons, a virtual synagogue and a virtual dojo (for Japanse martial arts) and even a virtual Western Wall (HaKotel) for instance.
But why has the OBA (Public Libary Amsterdam) to be there, and the City Of The Hague?!

It is fun to look around and to be there for one (maybe two) time(s), but I don’t think this is my world. I’ll keep to my own old First Life, I mean people of flesh and blood…

Biased journalism in Britain

Monday, April 16th, 2007

Nothing new… It seems that particularly the British and Belgian press is very biased concerning Israel and the Middle East for years now. The Middle East is having a very difficult problem. We all know that.

But now the Britsh National Union of Journalists has voted to boycott Israeli products.

That you boycott products of a country as a private person, that is still a choice you could make…

But as a journalist organisation you can never be trusted again….

Jimbo is a pathologic(al) liar…

Saturday, January 27th, 2007

I never did follow Jimmy Carter’s carreer, I must admit. I knew he got a Nobel Peace Price, but more mistakes have been made there.

Now he has published a book that has the title: Peace Not Apartheid. As I heard the title I frowned my eyebrows. After hearing parts from the book I made a comparison with some high rank dutch politicians (former prime minister Van Agt for instance) that have formed a form of latent anti-Semitism or anti-Zionism, like Jimbo does. It is at least biased, but probably worse.

There are so many lies in the book: Page 62: When I met with Yasir Arafat in 1990, he stated, “The PLO has never advocated the annihilation of Israel. The Zionists started the ‘drive the Jews into the sea’ slogan and attributed it to the PLO.

I was drawn to this lie: We all KNOW by fact that this is not the truth!

I am not going into it deeply because others do that much better that I could ever do. And next to that I must be honest that I did not read the book. But also in this case: others did the (good) job!

Read on at CAMERA. They made a roundup of all criticism on Jimbo.

Something related: Jimmy Carter Center gets Arab money. And I mean loads of it…

French Village People Unifil

The French have always been cowards…

Now they have the loudest voice about Lebanon-Israel. Not because they want to bring peace into the region. They want to show the Arab world that they are still on their side. They want tho lead the mission.

They have to, because they have longtime historical tires to the Arab world (a lot of countries in the region have French as first or second language), but maybe most important they have a realy large Arab-Islamic population in France and they had agressive riots there.

I took about weeks before they could decide whether they would send troups as a part of the UN force, or not. And they did. 200 in count! Meanwhile a few more. This is quite substantial France!

Protected by the Village People!

Now they are camping in Lebanon, it seems. Look at the pictures here, here and here

Amnesty’s blinkers off?

Thursday, September 14th, 2006

When I read the news about the Amnesty (use the link and see why Wikipedia rulez!) report that states that Hezbollah’s attacks on Israeli civilians are actualy war crimes I was surprised. I mean very surpised!

To my knowledge – and I am not that much into it lately – this is the first time that Amnesty is speaking out on violence with Israeli civilians as a goal.

Left wingers are saying that the Israeli are to blame, but it takes two to make a quarrel.

We are not talking numbers here. From both sides every loss is one to much.
